Foot care is especially important if you are diabetic.
Realizing that you may have little or no feeling in your feet and taking care not to injure them is important. Some medical professionals recommend not using heating pads because of the worry of burning your feet on an electric heating pad. If you have lost sensation in your feet you might not know if the temperature is too hot.
Our heating pads will only cool down after heating so there is no worry of falling asleep as with an electric heating pad. If you use a microwave heating pad then you can test it on your arms or chest beforehand to make sure it is safe. Ask a friend or relative if you are unsure.
Make sure to inspect your feet for any cuts or abrasions everyday. Wear shoes with plenty of wiggle room for toes and wear socks that don’t wrinkle inside your shoes. Soak your feet 2 to 3 times a week.
