Mainely Hand Warmers are about 7 inches wide by 11 inches long, and each weighs slightly over one pound. One size fits on most hands.

Each mitten is made with Berber fleece and is lined with cotton flannel. Inside is a cotton (muslin) pouch filled with whole corn (not popping corn). That pouch is covered with flannel. The flannel cover and the mittens may be removed and washed. We do not recommend washing the muslin packet of corn.

These hand warmers offer comforting warmth for 45 - 60 minutes. Length of heating time is dependent on different levels of microwave power and your desired temperature. We suggest starting with 45 seconds for the two mitts and increasing the heating time according to your comfort level. For people with poor circulation we recommend testing them first to make sure they are not too hot. These microwave mitts were designed to be used inside but may be used outside too.

Note: The flannel covered packet of corn makes a versatile cold pack for use after surgery to help reduce swelling. It is relatively light in weight -- about 1 lb. -- and is 8" x 6." Store in the freezer (preferably in a plastic bag). It can go back and forth from the microwave to the freezer without degrading the materials.

Check out our Palm Packs -- designed to be placed inside your mittens or pockets.
They will stay warm about 10 - 15 minutes.

We'll include a gift card with your message at no extra charge.
