The Portland Pooch

The Portland Pooch is a long, flexible warmer disguised as a loyal friend. Its shape drapes easily around your neck, across your stomach or along your lap, while the whole-corn insert helps it settle comfortably in place.

Microwave the warmer as assembled for cozy warmth, or chill it for cooling comfort. The whole corn is held inside a cotton liner; heat or chill “Doxie” as assembled during normal use.

Inspired by Portland’s four-legged residents, this easygoing warmer is especially giftable for dog people.

Field Notes: Nickname: Doxie | Habitat: The brick sidewalks of the Old Port | Care: A Velcro closure gives access to the removable, refillable cotton liner. Heat or chill the item assembled. To wash the outer item, remove the liner; with a smaller opening, empty the corn first so the liner can pass through.

My extra long neck warmer is wonderful for sciatica. I heat or cool it and then run it from my back to all the way down my leg, following the sciatic nerve. It really helps.

Three weeks ago, I had a bilateral mastectomy and the doctor said to use heat several times a day to promote healing. So, Mr. Sheep and I have become very good friends.
