Cozy Gray Sheep microwave heaing pad warming a bed Where to buy whole corn:

Feed stores, hardware stores, and stores that sell bird food may carry whole corn. Do not use popping corn or canned or frozen corn. If you live in a major city there may or may not be a feed store near you.

Rice may be easily purchased at a grocery store (see below for instructions on filling). It may take on a peculiar odor after being microwaved several times. However, with an easy fill option you may change the rice when necessary.

The cover and lining (without the filling) may be washed.

Fill muslin lining with corn or rice, close Velcro. Insert liner inside the cover and secure with the second Velcro closure. See amount of corn or rice to use below.

Panda Bear microwave heating pad on a chairFill with whole corn or rice:

2.75 lb. or 1.25 kg = 6 cups or 1.42 liters. Corn and rice are about the same in volume and weight. They will heat up to approximately the same temperature. Heating time in the microwave and heat retention are about the same. Adjust amount of filling to your liking.
